Canton Fair records 210,000 buyers & 24,644 exhibitors


News this week:: The largest trade fair in Asia, Canton Fair, has released its official statistics for the 2012 Spring Session. The exhibition concluded its 111th session on 4th May. During the 15-day event, organisers reported a record of close to 210,000 buyers from 213 countries and regions were present at the China Import and Export Fair Complex.

The top ten countries and regions visiting Canton Fair this year included Hong Kong, U.S., India, Taiwan, Russia, Malaysia, Indonesia, Japan, Australia and Korea. A total of 112,993 (over 50% of the total buyers) were from Asia. Europe ranked with 38,125 buyers attending.

The Canton Fair was held from 15th April to 4th May in three phases – each five days in length. A total of 24,644 exhibitors occupied 59,434 booths at this year’s event. The next session of the Canton Fair will start on 15th October 2012.
