Koelnmesse to advise on northeast China venue

News this week: Cologne, 7th October: Germany-based trade fair organiser, Koelnmesse, will advise Beijing Huahong Jiye Investment on the construction of a new exhibition venue in China’s north-eastern city of Harbin. An agreement was signed by both parties on 7th October.

The venue is set to consist of a 100,000 m2 complex, where Beijing Huahong Jiye Investment is looking utilise the venue planning experience of Koelnmesse. Koelnmesse will offer the Chinese company consultancy and support on the venue construction from the initial layout to technical and logistical requirements, through to a centre management concept.

Koelnmesse’s CEO Gerald Böse said, “With our new exhibition halls we have amply demonstrated our ability to plan a state of the art and flexible exhibition centre. And we are pleased to pass on to our Chinese colleagues the experience gained in the process.”

Under the agreement, the two parties will also launch new trade fairs and Koelnmesse to acquire existing shows in China, particularly in the food sector.
