Pirates

I am aware that it is easy to 'borrow' other people's content on the web. I'm not sure whether to feel flattered or furious at the discovery that another so-called blog is simply lifting all of the content from this one.

It appears that a copywriter, Michael Fortin (I'm not going to do him the favour of linking to his web site from here) has set up a site called Business Web Review. You may find that the content on this site looks awfully familiar. It seems that it's being used to promote a web design company. Funny, they seem to have forgotten to attribute the content to its original source.

Hmmm!

Obviously, all contents are incorporated through RSS connection. So, Paul if you add your author signature, text-linked back to your blog as the article footer, it will also show up in his site. I think this is what you should consider to do. Anyway, it is so outraged!

Hi Paul,
Not only is this guy a liar, a con artist and a thief, he's also an idiot.
He's stealing your stuff through an RSS feed. As a result, the top story on his site tonight is your post about his stealing content.
Have you tried calling him or his staff yet? He lists his numbers on his Web site. The guy calls himself "the Internet's number one copywriter." Maybe he's just too damn stupid to understand that stealing copy isn't the same as writing copy.

Hi Paul,
I'm going to give this guy the benefit of a doubt. It looks to me like he started to set up a blog, maybe experimented with RSS, and then walked away. There's nothing on the site other a handful of your most recent posts -- including the one about his stealing your work.
I think this is a mistake. I don't think he has a clue what he's done.
There are tons of folks on the Web who steal copy. But most of them do so to fill out sites that they try to monetize with Google Ads. It doesn't look to me like this guy has done any such thing.
My guess -- he's made a mistake, and he'll yank the stuff if you contact him.
Good luck.

I suspect Paul is right about this. It's certainly generated significant outrage in various forums and is a good illustration of the fact that "there's nowhere to hide on the net".

I believe that my requests to him to remove all my blog entries from my blog, http://www.PhotoBusinessForum.com, got him to wipe the blog altogether, including your posts, as,when I wrote this, he'd just deleted all the posts to his blog. I was upset that he'd had my posts too, and pleased that he was willing to remove mine when I asked, but it seems he's removed yours as well.
